My Web Dev Learning Journey
I always wanted to be a software engineer. But at first, I had no clear plan. I was just enjoying student life. Then my brother, Rudra, stepped in. He’s a web developer and kept telling me to try coding. That’s when things started.
In 11th grade, I did CodeWithHarry’s Web Dev course. I liked it and slowly picked up JavaScript by Jonas Schmedtmann’s course. By the end of that year, I could build a simple CRUD app on my own.
During my 12th vacation, I got serious. I took course to learn React. It was hard at first, but I stuck with it. Slowly, things started to make sense. That’s when I really got into it.
Later, I found JavaScript Mastery. Those real-world projects helped a lot. I learned Next.js, TypeScript, backend, and other modern tools. It felt like I was finally building for real, not just following tutorials.
While playing cricket with friends, I got the idea to build ballbyball. I made it from scratch to track match scores. It was the first time I felt what I could really do. That project gave me confidence.
Some things still took time to learn. Git, APIs, testing, I figured them out slowly. Real projects pushed me to do it.
What changed most was how I think. I stopped trying to learn everything at once. I focused on finishing what I started. I still don’t know it all, and that’s okay.
The journey’s still going. But now, I know how to keep moving.
